This post started with this coming across my feed:
Communities have power - sending everyone scurrying around in an attempt to find The Good Place is a great way to dissipate the rising energy and rapid growth of collective awakening.
Be cautious about following waves of activity in the collective. Jumping on bandwagons without contemplating the big picture wastes energy.
Step into stillness - what is right for YOU and YOUR goals - personal, professional, spiritual?
Which communities bring you joy, inspiration, and feelings of connection?
Understand that all things contain high and low. All platforms are self-serving - no platform is built purely on the hope of well-being for all humankind.
Ultimately, we have to watch out for our projections on them as we are the ones responsible for our feeds. We are the ones responsible for time spent on apps and how we allow them to distract or fuel us.
Your feed starts flooding with shit you don't like? Change it. I can't believe the number of posts I've seen where people feel helpless to curate their feed or at the mercy of the algorithm.
There is this frantic clicking and blocking and high anxiety response whenever a post comes across that's offensive or unwanted. Then, hands are thrown in the air, and it's off to find another platform.
They are all the same.
They run on dispassionate algorithms designed to hook you and keep you.
You are NOT at the mercy of anything.
And let me say this as another unpopular opinion - if you struggle to set boundaries and hold your own space IRL, you will experience social media as victimizing you in the same exact ways.
If you want the feed to be different - make it different.
If you want more of one thing search it out and click away.
If you want less of one thing never touch it.
This is so law of attraction in action that it's a little bit funny.
What you resist persists. Spend your time blocking pages and closing ads, and swimming in fear of all the things will only bring more of that crap. To be clear, I'm not talking about blocking people - block the shit out people who deserve it.
Spend your time seeking out what brings you connection, support, and inspiration, and pretty quickly, you'll start getting more of that "frequency."
Relying on fact-checkers was never a good idea in the first place. Check your own - take your time before sharing posts - use social media mindfully.
What are you doing on social media anyway?
Is it serving you?
Is it helping you grow and expand?
Are you adding your energy of joy and creativity to the mix (not talking about toxic positivity!)
Are you using your voice to express what you feel called to express?
Are you sitting on the sidelines feeling attacked, or are you deciding what you will and WON'T allow in your space?
Are you claiming your Sovereignty?
You're the boss of you.
Choose.
XO,
LMW
P.S. I’m not going anywhere. I only left MySpace and blogspot when they basically shut down, LOL!
