The hardest thing for humans is uncertainty. Although we can never really be certain before current times we could with some degree of certainty predict the trajectory of our lives or so we imagined.
Such beautiful dreamers.
Mind was still in the comfy illusion that we were the ones choosing the direction.
We are not.
We never have been.
Mind struggling to restore the illusion while Soul growth demands we release it, is exhausting.
The but what, but wait, but hold on a minute thinking is pouring salt in the wounds exposed by the loss of said illusion.
Life is evolving, as it always does, and a world of wonder is coming. But we have to emerge from under the blankets to see it.
All that we've asked for is being born but we clamp the pillows over our heads and repeatedly slap the snooze button.
But Life evolves, and we can come out from under the covers, or forward momentum will snatch them away.
Is this how those loyal to the Crown felt during the American Revolution? Those who thought it was a terrible idea to defy the King but couldn't make their way back to England?
Is this how the citizenry who did want to eat better but didn't want all the royals heads lopped off and their children tortured, felt during the French Revolution?
What about the Fall of Rome?
The end of Sumeria?
The collapse of Constantinople?
Bewildered? Clinging? Scared?
We have some records of how leaders felt, but nothing of what the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker went through.
When falling, it helps to accept and dive.
2025's word was Beauty, but I changed it to Permission.
I commit to diving in, letting go of the blankets and allowing what was to transform into what is now and what is becoming.
I give myself Permission to be fearful, to slow down, to reserve judgment.
I give myself Permission to see sunlight create beautiful rainbows through the prism of broken glass.
I give myself Permission to know that I don't know what's right for the world because, historically, what rises from the ashes is better than what burnt to the ground.
From the buffet of options, I choose to focus on:
❤️ Permission to Love
💐 Permission to trust in Beauty
🔥 Permission to continue active Advocating for what I believe matters
What will you choose?
Where will you focus your energy?
How will you sustain that focus while remaining flexible?
XO,
LMW
Really like this. Permission is such a good word!
